As many of you know I’ve been a very generous person here on DR. Well now it’s my turn to ask for some help. I would like some feedback, positive or negative on my new website design. Before Christmas I had no experience with building websites other than throwing something together with MS Publisher. Well a few books later, a couple dozen YouTube WordPress videos, several hundreds hours of plugging away and I think I’ve come up with a pretty good little site. Can you say sleep deprived? Well I am glad it’s over so that I can now rest up for my next challenge.
Here are my questions:

  1. What did you think of the 1st page, it’s ability to capture your attention, and make you to proceed to the next step?
  2. Does this website provide you with a better understanding of how I accomplish what I do?
  3. What did you really like?
  4. What did you not like?
  5. Am I nuts to give away “free training snippets” and “phone scripts?”

I also worry that I’ll be training other trainers how to become a better trainer. Please let me know your thoughts when you have a moment. You can find a feedback form under the “contact us” page.

Thanks

Jerry,
100% improvement over your last site! I can say after reading lots of what you write here and on the blog that it's obvious your a smart guy. That being said after visiting your last site it looked like a guy half committed to his company had put it together, sorry:(
However this site is easy to follow and has a very professional feel. Do I wonder what you have left to sell after I see how much you give for free? Yes, but with so much free information online I wonder that all the time.

Wise choice in getting "Good ole Uncle Joe" to help you out, that cat knows websites.

Thanks Craig. The other site was always a temporary solution.

The short videos I provide are just a fraction of what I teach when visiting a dealership. You can give a salesperson as many scripts or videos as you want, it doesn't mean they'll use them. That's why the coaching is so important since It holds the salespeople accountable and requires them to get better. It's amazing how much better the salespeople get after a few months of coaching.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Jerry,
Very informative site! How about next to the video you have running you have a quick paragraph about what your company does-an elevator speech of some type? How about a testimonials page?

Dealership Testimonials and Salespeople Testimonials

Excellent feedback! I just created a new page under the "about us" that links to the two links above.

Thank you!

Good idea choosing wordpress, a great way to make updating your site quick and easy. The only thing I would suggest is setting the video on the front page to start up muted and allow the visitor to turn on the audio if they wish. All my sites are setup that way to accommodate those at workplaces where unexpected sounds may not be desired.

Also looking for feedback on the calculator. When you 1st visited, did you try it? Give me your raw thoughts please.

Raw thoughts... wasn't blown away. Initial reaction was south of neutral, got better as I navigated through. I'm nobody to talk but I would have used the ninja much more and maybe did up some kind of crazy funny characature for your videos rather then the ones you used. (I'll get back to the videos later)

It's a fun name so to have a fairly serious and business-y site isn't putting it to work as much as it could. I think car guys love to have fun and it would help your angle.

I subscribe to the function before aesthetics school of thought so I want to give you props for an easy enough to navigate site with some great info. I got tripped up with testimonials, going back and forth to get to the different categories... not a biggie.

The only thing I didn't like was that the home page video was a cartoon rather then you saying the same thing "in person". I friggen hate those videos and think there ugly in general (just my opinion of course) and think it would be easier and better to simply record yourself and post it to youtube or a video site to embed. Like I'd said earlier, and if theres some kind of statistical data that reasons why your using the cartoons in the first place why not have it be a crazy ninja killing the phone illustrating your intro... figuratively and literally. That would be make a great tv commercial! Hope that helps... I didn't use the calculator but I wasn't on your site to buy the product, just to snoop.

I would have the calculator pre filled with some data so it does not show zeros when you first read the page, then put something along the lines of "fill in your numbers and see what we can do!"

right now when I first land I see 0, 0, 0, 0 if I put in some numbers I see $9,000 per month profit, what would jump out at you?
