Seems like a few years ago they stopped signing independents but grandfathered in any that already were signed up. Has anyone heard of these two signing new independents? I know they wont sign small ones, but how about 5 year in business doing 50+ per month?

Not to my knowledge, but I believe it is regional. Some parts of the country they may be, while others not.

I seem to recall a number like 25 contracts per month minimum to keep them happy, but honestly it changes so fast that whatever things used to be are likely not relative.

✨ AI Highlights

An independent dealer inquires whether Ally and Santander are still accepting new independent dealerships as finance partners, noting these lenders previously stopped signing new independents years ago while grandfathering existing ones. The single reply suggests the answer likely varies by region and that volume requirements (possibly 25+ contracts monthly) are a threshold for approval, though these criteria change frequently and the respondent lacks definitive current information.
