Very very long story short I'm looking to gain a further understanding of the "behind the scenes" of F&I, as a buyer, the basics have been integrated into my sourcing strategies. Meaning, I understand the overall concept of the loan value and it's the effect on "turnover"; However, recently (after hiring a new F&I manager) deals are becoming harder to put together on vehicle's that are being priced 1.5-2k above loan value from day 1. So ultimately, the vehicles are being purchased and priced in a manner that opens them up to the larger demographic of people that may either have bad credit w/minimal cash down or on the flipside great credit with no cash.

Are there any good (MODERN) F&I manuals, webinars, classes, etc that don't cost an arm and a leg to breeze over.

✨ AI Highlights

A used car buyer seeking to better understand F&I operations asks for affordable, modern educational resources after experiencing difficulties closing deals on inventory priced significantly above loan value. The poster notes that aggressive pricing strategies targeting subprime and cash buyers are creating challenges in deal assembly, suggesting a disconnect between sourcing practices and F&I reality. The inquiry centers on finding cost-effective training materials to bridge the gap between basic F&I concepts and the nuanced mechanics of managing deals across different credit tiers.
