What tools and/or process do you use educate your salespeople on the product knowledge they need in order to sell (off-make) used vehicles?

Ryan Leslie published an article over on the blog titled: What Ellen Degeneres Can Teach You About Off-Make Walkarounds

Lets face it, most of our staff DO NOT take the time to educate themselves on the pre-owned inventory, especially off-make make/models if you're an OEM dealer. What can you do and what tools can you or are you using to help educate your sales staff on all the different makes and models on your used car lot?

Ryan offers up a few of his own ideas...
  • Encourage your sales team to walk the lot both physically AND digitally!
  • Create a small spiff for your sales team to review VDPs with the intent of finding errors.
  • Encourage your team to write better custom comments.
  • Encourage your team to review VIN and market specific data.
