How is October 2011 sales shaping up ?

AI Summary

Dealers shared mixed October 2011 sales results, with most reporting tracking ahead of the previous year despite broader industry challenges. While some markets benefited from strong weekends and beat targets (particularly used vehicle dealers), others faced significant headwinds from external factors like sports events and Honda production slowdowns caused by the Thailand flooding. The consensus suggested October was shaping up better than initially expected, though results varied considerably by dealership and geography.

September auto sales were better then expected for most manufacturers. Despite having more inventory, it looks like Honda stores are struggling. The new TV commericals are cute, but I'm not sure it is pushing people to by Honda's.

How's every one feeling about October sales ?

We're 15 minutes from Busch Stadium...it's all NLCS/World Series and no Sales when it's in town. The days the Birds were in TX we Rocked...1/4 of the month's Sales were closed in those 2 days. We're taking it on the chin like an every 100 years flood.

We had a very strong friday and saturday and have moved up in our district. Today has been surprisingly busy.

Due to the flooding in Thailand, Honda announced another slow down in production. The natural disasters have his made this year historic.
