Leaving Reynolds & Reynolds Contact Management

AI Summary

A dealer asks about switching away from Reynolds & Reynolds Contact Management, concerned about losing years of customer notes during the migration. Responses advise consulting with the new CRM vendor directly about data conversion capabilities, with one user recommending vendors like DealerSocket that have extensive transfer experience. The consensus is that data loss concerns should be addressed by the incoming vendor rather than accepted as inevitable, though vendors may have conflicting claims about their predecessors' data loss rates.

Has anyone had any experience leaving Reynolds & Reynolds Contact Managements? We've been told that if we leave we will only be able to export customer contact information but no NOTES! Has anyone experienced this?
Any suggestions on how to save years of customer interaction records?

Jeremy is right - talk to someone like DealerSocket who has done hundreds, if not thousands, of these transfers.
Up here in Canada we're still on CM v0 that only seems to work in Internet Exploder 7 - we've had discussions with many, many people about switching and they all said they can do it without data loss, then the next vendor always says that the last vendor we spoke to has a tendency to lose data ;)
