Some people might have seen a recent post about the explosion of app usage on mobile devices and whether or not dealerships could cash in on the benefits. Well... I found this too ironic not to share.

So as I was driving home last night I get a flat from a chunk of metal the size of a silver dollar. Of course I've only had this car for three weeks, not only that but I haven't replaced my handy flashlight after the batteries blew up in my old one. Anyways, so I go to get my spare and of course its 9:30 at night. Can't see a thing! As I'm out getting more upset by the minute trying to get this "tank" jacked up in pitch darkness my genius friend looks on their phone and downloads the "flashlight app." Long story short donut was put on and the tire was $300 (great night and morning ).

As I was driving away on my donut, it hit me that this is what it's come to. If it were 5 or even 2 years ago, I would have been $%*# out of luck. But nope everything I needed was in the palm of my, or my friends, hand.

I had to share because I found it too ironic after talking about the usefulness of apps. Now only if the phone could've had an app to change my tire for me. Does anyone know a developer who can make it? I'll pay!

I programmed the number for AAA into my phone when I got it. Does that make me less of a geek or less of a man. Just curious... :D

The worst part is I have AAA, I just didn't want to wait for them to have to show up and figured I could have it done by the time they would have gotten there. That and maybe I just wanted to feel better about myself by changing it on my own, in the dark, on one of the more sketchy roads in the area... Now that I think of it, maybe not so smart.

Anyone using the vAuto or iMagiclab apps. I have both and found them rather useful on a day to day basis. vAuto for checking inventory and online pricing while out on the lot and iMagic for making customer calls that are logged directly from my iPhone.
