Help a Grad Student Out!

I'm really hoping someone can help me out. I'm a grad student (getting my MBA) and I'm working on an extracurricular project where I need lots of specific information about the various makes and models of available autos (the more the better).

Specifically, I'm looking for information like "for automobile make X, model Y, the available":

colors are {list of colors}
engines are {list of available engines}
door amounts {list of door amounts}
etc.

Basically, all of the information and options.

A lot of little websites, like DecodeThis have a TON of information about (seemingly) every make and model out there (Example).

Where do they get that data from? Is there a software API out there I could use? I've searched everywhere and I can't seem to find anything :(

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!
Steve

Most of this data is collected by companies that provide specific vehicle-decoding solutions: eVox, Chrome, Izmo, etc. These companies sell their data to service companies that provide solutions like website hosting for dealerships, dealership CRM's, and Vehicle Marketing solutions. The easiest way to get your hands on that data is to have a connection at one of those companies.

Other than that I don't know of any other way to easily get this stuff :dunno:
