Hey All,

I don;t know if this is the right place for this. Also, for a little background I was hired to handle internet leads for a high end used car dealership...but the problem is I don't know what the hell I'm doing. I've never sold cars....so be prepared for some sooooper noob questions over the next little while.

The whole point of me is to get more people into the dealership.

Ok, for a tangible question.

About half the leads we get are for cars that have already sold. Many times we don;t have the exact same model/options/color/whatever available. For now I've been asking what they liked about the car they chose, then using the feedback to suggest similar models and asking for an appointment.

Is there a better way of going about this?

Thats it for now..thanks in advance.

How often does your inventory update online? The cars should be coming offline within a day of the vehicle being sold. You need to have your dealer get that squared away first and foremost, so you don't get into this predicament, alot.

Used cars are all about options. You are on the right track for offering alternatives, but used car shoppers are more often than not, all over the place, unless they know they will only buy a certain make/model/year in 1 or 2 colors with under xxxxx miles and has to be $xxxxx priced.
