Inventory Manager

I don't understand why Craigslist doesn't just charge for vehicle listings from car dealers and make a support interface to do the postings....

Ebay is a major CL stockholder (25%) and ebay is scared to death of CL and trying to strong arm them in legal battles: Craigslist CEO: eBay lawsuit reeks of hypocrisy

I dont blame CL for trying to keep to its mission. Commercial sites are everywhere, CL is the outlier.

ecarlist has the best inventory manager I've seen. I'm only switching to Vinsolutions because it's ALMOST as good and integrates into the CRM. I have a feeling though that the integration is going to become something I can't live without for marketing!!

Homenet has everything you listed. They also have a Craigs List tool that does not get flagged. If you need more info let me know.. The pricing tool is great and it can be set so any changes go live on your website in seconds. Are you using Auto Trader? Dealer Specialties sends changes to Auto Trader once a day (overnight) Home Net updates Auto Trader every few hours. I have had Dealers make changes on Home Net and it shows on Auto Trader within an hour.

Thank you for the shout out! We have always and will continue to always stay ahead of the competition. With over 70 developers now we won't be beat! If we ever lack behind then email me directly: jbiter@homenetauto.com.

I just adore iol, have no issues w/ CL, as long as I don't exceed 5 a day...............except for always having to manuly update oem equipment, color and all else for my listings, but that gives me something to do whilst waiting for the up bus :geezer:

In house for us...as well as Homenet....we are in a market where the third party companies that offer services are not very good. They would miss days, terrible pictures and were pricey. As far as the inventory management side of thing I would have to agree that Homenet is the best.

We are using First Look. I recently found out that they can do the inventory data feed blast. I'm paying (2) separate companies to take photos and upload vin explosion for our inventory. I'm seriously thinking about going in-house with this and creating a new position for the company. I like homenet, but First look has a really trick pricing feature, regional and local. Any thoughts from anyone who is doing this in-house?

My team pushes 500 used units a month thru our inventory host, here's my $0.02.

Don't know about First Look hosting, but I can tell you that Inventory hosting is far more complex than a vin exploder and a server...wait. I take that back. It is just a VIN explosion and a server. But.. a poor inventory host can make your life miserable. In no way am I inferring that First Look is poor, I know nothing about them. I do know that a weak, poorly developed Vin explosion takes time to make corrections. I've been with HN since 02 and we're still dik'ing around with Chrome's data. A VIN exploder is a reseller of data (ala Chrome). Chrome is one of the gold standards and we still have issues to this day. An inventory server is also distribution system and this needs to be understood and evaluated prior to purchase.

Oh... you want it to sell cars too?

Here's a classic VIN explosion. Try to get your customer excited about this options list:
