I found a very promising individual to join my Internet Dept. I have hired him on as a commissioned salesperson on a team of now 4. I gave him a very thorough tour of the dealership and discussed the culture and business model at length before he signed on.
He’s here today and right now training on Vinsolutions…
My dilemma is figuring out how to start cutting him in on our teams commissions. It’s been a solid month so far, 31.5 sold between the 3 of us. There is little turnover in the dept, so haven’t really put too much thought in to the policy for transitioning employee’s payment policy.
Do I let him just in and start collecting immediately on our pay? We get a retro bonus at the end of the month as well, based on meeting a monthly goal. Should he be qualified for that?
Does anyone have any experience with this situation? Any ideas?
I wanted to just start having him to be able to collect on deals starting today, but it was explained to me it will be too much work to keep separate ledgers to account for that. I’m trying to wrap my head around him getting paid for our previous sales before he arrived.
