AI Summary

Dealers discuss their experiences with Relay Autos and competing AI automation platforms for Facebook Marketplace listing posting and customer response handling. Positive feedback centers on Relay's ability to generate human-sounding automated replies that successfully book appointments, with users reporting 7-26 attributed sales, though some dealers note limitations in handling complex multi-turn conversations involving trade-ins, financing, and vehicle details. The emerging consensus is that while these tools excel at initial engagement and appointment setting, the real challenge lies in sophisticated back-and-forth messaging, where most platforms still fall short compared to manual follow-up.

We've been using Relay since October, wasn't sure at first but it's done as promised. 26 deals we can directly attribute to it. The AI replies are what got me, they sound human enough that customers don't realize it's automated until after they book an appointment. @Gerardwils97 what options were you comparing it to? There were a couple companies we looked at before going with them but none I could find that do the chats and posts automated like Relay does it.

I saw an ad for relay recently but I have been using autobeaconai they have fb marketplace offerup craigslist and a few other platforms that it will post on and the AI will try to set appointments for anyone who responds to the listings. Its insane I like it better because I have gotten a majority of my sales off of other platforms than fb marketplace. autobeaconai.com
This discussion is for people searching for credible platforms, not self-promotion @westerngrant2013 .

The marketplace automation space is getting crowded fast. The key differentiator I'd look for is how well the AI handles the back-and-forth after the initial inquiry, not just the first response. Setting the appointment is where most of these tools fall short because the conversation gets nuanced quickly (trade-in questions, financing concerns, specific vehicle availability). Anyone here tracking conversion rates from marketplace AI replies vs. manual follow-up?

We use AI in our CRM which works well aside from not being able to send the VDP urls when asked or the Carfax reports.

For facebook we've tried AI and as you pointed out, the back and forth conversations were not handled great so we went back to manual responses on facebook, still looking for a better tool to handle facebook.
