Social Media Specialist
Job Summary:
The Specialist will interact with dealership associates and core strategic partners to optimize Sonic Automotive’s business presence in the Social Media spaces. This will be achieved through use of common dashboards, reporting tools and process by tracking key metrics and monitoring relevant content and customer feedback.
Additionally, duties include deploying in-store customer feedback ‘best practices’, coordinating marketing events with online activity, tracking social media trends, partnering with other departments to ensure proper online messaging and relevancy, and ensuring consistency of messages across multiple networks.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal, written and presentation based communication skills, and have expert knowledge of social networking channels (including Facebook, Google+, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, StumbleUpon, Digg, forums, wikis and blogs).
This is a full time position that reports to the National eCommerce Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute Sonic’s social media strategy by working with dealerships, vendor partners, marketing, PR, and other internal stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of the social media communication channel.
- Work with vendor partner and IT to ensure social media tools are current and effective.
- Manage media campaigns and day-to-day activities. Duties include overseeing Sonic’s online content and advocacy, promotion, community-outreach efforts, etc…
- Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs and analyze, review and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results
- Monitor trends in social media tools, trends and applications
- Extreme passion for the social media space.
- Knowledge on how to use and leverage the various social media space, tools, blogs, etc…
- A positive, can-do attitude!
- Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task simultaneously meeting deadlines.
- Ability to analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for changing or revising social media campaigns.
- Strong writing skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in verbal, written and presentation formats, and build and maintain relationships
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Team player, with the confidence to take the lead when necessary
