Trilogy smart leads

Richard, yes - I'm aware what they are but I was more interested in what you were hoping to achieve with the service (not using the obvious "better leads" answer). I was trying to open up the conversation a little. :)

As I speak to a lot of dealers across the States, I usually hear much of the same "We're trying to get out of all 3rd party leads. This was an approach that I too had a few years ago until I realized that if you have a real strategy behind 3rd party leads - you can achieve a very acceptable closing ratio.

Maybe we should start a separate thread on strategies for maximizing 3rd Party leads. :)

Jeff- Yes, Yes, & MORE Yes....I would love to see some blog posts or forum activity around 3rd party leads. While these are not high performers, they do buy cars. With Technology additions can come a break in process. I think a little back to the basics could do the community well. Nothing replaces sound process and result driven accountability.

In short, all other third party sources we have tried seem to gather contact information in an manner they can. Many times we contact them on a new car lead and the person is looking for a $3,000 car , many bad credit, tons of bad information, and people that only filled out the form to get the information they were looking for but couldn't access without giving the contact information. Then there would be a ton of " bad leads" that you filter through once a week to make sure you are getting credit for their junk. The ROI has always been poor. Trilogy claim a better lead by eliminating much of the junk prior to sending the lead to the dealer. Sounds great, but many times something that sounds too good to be true often is. A quality lead in combination with a great process would be the perfect combination. I would welcome a thread on best processes for third party leads. The combination of a great process and not wasting the time of my BDC team on poor leads would be the optimal situation.
